Atlanta IFDA’s Twenty-fifth Anniversary Angel Tree Event is right around the corner!
In the Atlanta, Georgia area? Don’t miss the upcoming Angel Tree event on Tuesday, November 16 at 5 o’clock p.m. in the Jordan Spencer Showroom, Suite 323 at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center!
IDFA holds dear our tradition of joining with design center staff and guests within the design industry to give back to the community through the Angel Tree project. Each year, we work (and play! and shop!) to bring holiday cheer in the
form of presents to children living among us who would otherwise have none. We are coordinating again this year with the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFACS).
The way Angel Tree works:
First: Come to the Party!
On November 16, join friends and colleagues to eat, drink and have a fabulous evening. The staff at the new Jordan Spencer showroom has been busy planning a gala evening for us. While you are mingling and networking, be sure to stop by the tree to select your “angels.” On the back of each angel tag is the name, age and sex of an individual child in need of sponsoring. Fill out your information on the lower section of the tag, tear it off and place it in our heirloom Angel Tree box.
Next Step: Shop, Wrap and Deliver your Presents.
Buy toys for your angels – a minimum of three separately wrapped gifts per child. Many of us also like to include a gift for the “mom” in the picture for fostering these children and giving them time, a home and love. Many of our members have made this shopping expedition a tradition with their children or grandchildren – a wonderful way to teach holiday giving while having fun. Then, wrap the presents up in festive paper, place them in the return bag we provide
(tied up with a bow and the angel tag for your child) and return them to Jordan Spencer between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, November 29 – Friday, December 3. When the presents have. been returned, IFDA will deliver them to DFACS. Santa will have come, thanks to all you dedicated and generous members.
